In April, I went to the countryside of England called cotswolds to escape from London.
I could get some fresh air, see lots of animals, and lovely cottages and spend a quiet time there.
The journey was about 2 hours from Paddington in London to Moreton-in-Marsh by National Rail. I could see some sheeps and cows through the windows.
Moreton-in-Marsh is one of the villages in Cotswolds. When I arrived there, I was really impressed by lots of cottages.
I decided to visit Chipping Campden where we can see old beautiful cottages, and it's quite near the National Rail Station.
The most important thing that I must tell you all is public transport is very poor in cotswolds. Buses come only 1 time in 1 hour. On sundays, there is no buses!
When we walk from one villege to another, it takes about 3 hours.
Best transport to visit around in cotswolds is driving. I saw a lot of cars going so fast!
Anyway, I got in Chipping Campden by bus.
In Chipping Campden, there is an very old church which was built in 15th century. I walked around the villege, and saw many old cottages which use a kind of straws as a roof.
I went a old pub to have a dinner. I had cottage pie there. I stayed one night in B&B.
Hi Chie
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful cottage! The special roof is called a 'thatched roof'. Yes, outside London the transport system is not so good, especially in rural areas.
